Description
An Electro-Mechanical Wizard! Pinball machine, by Bally, 1975, designed by Greg Kmiec, artwork by Dave Christensen based on the Ken Russell movie Tommy, original back glass with Roger Daltrey and Ann-Margret pictured, cabinet and playfield, serial number 3335, model number 1027, the original schematic is sold with the lot.
Note: The Wizard! was Ballys first mega-hit pinball breaking the 10,000 production mark (10,005 units were built, 5 units were distributed to the 5 top executives of Bally with the 10,005th going to Tom Neymens, Head of Sales). The striking artwork was franchised from the film Tommy, a rock musical fantasy based on The Whos 1969 rock opera about a seemingly disabled boy who becomes a pinball champion. It had an important impact on pinball games as it was the first machine to use a popular theme to great success. Nearly every arcade had a Wizard! and most were placed next to the door to attract players.
This pinball machine is sold with a 6 month warranty for parts and labour for mainland UK buyers with one free call-out visit. The lot will also be fully serviced before delivery (delivery is at buyers cost).
