Jewellery Cataloguer (Full-Time)

Roseberys are expanding their team and seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Jewellery Cataloguer to join our team. We are looking for a junior- or intermediate-level jewellery cataloguer, ideally FGA/GIA (or similar) qualified. 

Overview & Responsibilities

The Jewellery department at Roseberys is looking to employ a candidate who is professional, presentable and polite, with the ability to actively listen to clients so they can adequately gauge and address their needs, with excellent verbal communication skills and a good command of the English language. We have ambitious plans for the team and are looking for a committed, organised, energetic, flexible, motivated and enthusiastic team player. 

Main responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for helping catalogue the jewellery and watch auctions
  • Producing accurate condition reports
  • Familiarity with auction software back-office systems, online bidding platforms, real-time auction bidding and timed auctions
  • Pre- and post-sale administration awareness
  • Support the securing of new consignments in house and at valuations, together with support for business building and growth opportunities
  • Relationship building and maintaining existing client relationships
  • Work with the photographers in a timely manner to meet auction deadlines
  • Maximise all opportunities to work with the Marketing Team to grow the business through social media, advertising and trade awareness
  • Support other aspects of the business as and when required, being adaptable to working longer hours and weekends if required to 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • The ability to engage with new and existing clients at all levels is essential
  • Experience in a similar role within an auction house is essential
  • Excellent attention to detail is essential
  • An ability to multi-task and prioritise a busy workload in order to meet deadlines is essential
  • An ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative is essential
  • FGA/DGA/GIA G.G.qualification is preferred
  • Familiarity with auction software back-office systems, vendor management, online bidding platforms, real-time auction bidding, timed auctions and consignment procedures
  • Speak and write fluently in English 

This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday 9-5.30pm with some weekend work required for auctions and viewings.
