Description

Hans Dieter,

Still life with red geraniums;

oil on board, signed 'H Dieter' (lower right), 53.5 x 43.5 cm. ARR.

Provenance:
Private Collection, UK.

Note:
Dieter's work reveals a deep interest in the varying landscapes which surround him and the figures and forms which populate them. In the present work, he carries out a considered study of geraniums, with his depiction of a green backdrop, which causes the stems to blend into the background, emphasising further the red flowers which stand out strikingly against it.
