Description

A group of Georgian and later silver flatware, including a George III silver cream ladle.

London, 1786. 

Engraved with initial to terminal, 16.5cm long, together with: a pair of George III cream ladles, London, 1802, Christopher & Thomas Wilkes Barker, engraved with crest to terminals, 18cm long; two William IV Fiddle pattern teaspoons, London, 1832, James Payne, engraved with initials to terminals, 13.5cm long; an assembled set in fitted box comprising sifting spoon, jam spoon and caddy spoon, the sifting spoon, 1797, possibly George Smith (IV), 12.3cm long, the jam spoon, Birmingham, 1876, Hilliard & Thomason, the bowl repousse decorated with fruiting motifs, 12.4cm long, and the caddy spoon, maker HG, 8.8cm long; a set of six Victorian coffee spoons, Sheffield, three 1892 and three 1893, John Round & Son, the handles decorated with floral motifs, 11.4cm long; an Edwardian jam spoon with mother-of-pearl handle, Birmingham, 1904, Henry Griffin Plant, the bowl repousse decorated with fruiting motifs, 13.2cm long, in fitted case; an Edwardian christening fork and spoon, Sheffield, 1908, Hawksworth, Eyre & Co., both engraved with initials to reverse, approx. 15cm long; eight coffee bean spoons, Birmingham, 1965, William Suckling, 9.3cm long, in fitted case; and other items, total weighable silver approx. 18.3ozt (a lot)

 

Buyer's Premium

The buyer shall pay the hammer price together with a premium thereon of 26% up to £20,000 (31.2% inclusive of VAT), 25% from £20,001 - £500,000 (30% inclusive of VAT), 20% from £500,001 thereafter (24% inclusive of VAT). The premium price is subject to VAT at the standard rate.

VAT is not charged on the hammer price unless it is stated that there is 'VAT applicable on the hammer price at the end of the description. Buyer's premium is subject to VAT.
(ARR) - ARTIST'S RESALE RIGHT

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.

It applies to lots with hammer value over £1,000 as follows:
0 to £50,000 - 4%
£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
ARR is capped at £12,500

Export of goods
