Lot Footnotes
Note: When the porcelain factory at Ansbach was established in 1757 various craftsmen from Meissen were recruited, including Johann Friedrich Kändler. The moulded flowers on this plate are similar to the Gotzkowsky erhabene Blumen developed at Meissen for a service for the banker Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky, a merchant who was later the second owner of the Berlin porcelain factory. The flower design was used by Meissen for various services, including the service for Tsarina Elisabeth Petrovna of Russia.
