The sale features 528 lots of well provenanced, mainly private collections including a large group of early Islamic works to be sold without reserve. Early Qur’an folios and scientific manuscripts, a wonderful private collection of Indian miniatures and metalwork and a fantastic Bindu work by contemporary Indian painter S.H. Raza feature. Opening with the Antiquities section, we are pleased to present a rare Iberian limestone bust of a lady. A folio from the 18th century Ardeshir album leads a desirable group of miniatures from the Kangra, Guler, Pahari, and Mughal schools of painting and a group of Company school botanical drawings by P. Mooroogasen Moodeliar compliments a watercolour of a snakeskin painted for Patrick Russell’s eponymous 18th century monograph on snakes. It's sure to be an exciting sale.
