Chinese, Japanese & South East Asian Art: Day One

Day 1 begins with a selection of esoteric objects from the collection of captain André Le Gac (1895-1960) (Lots 1-44) and continues with a section of fifty lots of fine Chinese works of art including a rare pair of Qianlong mark and period imperial doucai jars (Lot 85), a magnificent 18th century gilt bronze figure of Chaturbhuja Manjushri (lot 45), 18th century jades from the collection of Robin Marx (1923-1975) (lots 92-95) and a rare and finely painted ‘Bleu de hue’ porcelain bowl commissioned by the Vietnamese Royal family in the 19th century (lot 83).  Following this will be over 120 lots of Chinese ceramics, the collection of a British studio potter, followed by a curated collection of tea-related objects, finishing with Japanese art and South East Asian works of art.
