Fine & Decorative
Wednesday 2 October 2024 10:00
The autumn Fine & Decorative auction showcases fine examples of furniture, works of art, ceramics and textiles. Led by a pair of rare extinct taxidermy New Zealand Huia birds, the sale also features items with royal connections, including a slice of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s wedding cake from 1947 and a commemorative glass cup made to celebrate the coronation of Edward VIII which never took place. Further highlights include a Wedgwood dinner service owned by the renowned Swiss chef and restaurateur, Anton Mosimonn, a rare Louis Vuitton wardrobe trunk, fine French furniture, including examples by admired craftsman François Linke and Paul Sormani, a stunning South German marquetry table cabinet and further items from the estate of the interior and fashion designer Jill Barington and her husband, Michael.
