This sale features one of our strongest ever selections of early Modern British artworks and includes a wonderful range of important private collections. Particular highlights are a portrait by Philip Wilson Steer (lot 83), an early landscape by Sir Kyffin Williams (lot 305), an early Henry Moore sculpture (lot 146) and an important 1950s work by Adrian Heath (lot 317). We are also delighted to be selling works from the Collection of Bernard Sheridan (1927-2007), which includes Wyndham Lewis (lot 7), Dame Ethel Walker (lots 4-5) and Duncan Grant (lot 6); the Collection of Paul Clarke (lots 32-77); and works from a private collector of Bloomsbury related art (lots 139-143). International highlights include a 1960s work by André Lanskoy (lot 309) and an early work by Larry Rivers (lot 401).
