Modern British & 20th Century Art Part I: Early Modern to Post-War

The sale features highlights from the early Modern, Post-War and Contemporary eras. We are delighted to be selling works from the Collection of Mollie and Graham Dark (lots 1-26), who carefully curated works by Peter Lanyon and their friends Terry Frost and Paul Feiler. Other highlights from the sale include a Welsh landscape by David Bomberg (lot 28), L. S. Lowry’s ‘The Church at Northleach, c.1940s’ (lot 246) and a major early work by Mimmo Rotello ‘Décollage, 1958’ (lot 274). In Part II we have an brilliant selection of works by some of the biggest names in contemporary art, including Keith Haring (295), Sarah Lucas (538) and Harland Miller (470). Running alongside will be a separate auction of works from the Collection of Mary and Alan Hobart, founders of Pyms Gallery on Tuesday 26th November, featuring works by Leonard Baskin, Sidney Nolan and Sir William Orpen.
