On Tuesday 29 November, Roseberys are pleased to present a sale of Jewellery & Watches, with estimates ranging from £150 to £100,000. The sale comprises 351 lots and has a wonderful selection of antique and early 20th-century jewels from world-renowned designers. Featured in the sale is a selection of jewellery by the eminent British jewellery designer Elizabeth Gage, as well as examples by Cartier,  Mauboussin, Tiffany & Co. and Lalaounis. Also included in the sale are a very interesting selection of wrist and pocket watches.

Lot 350: An important diamond single stone ring

The stand-out highlight of the upcoming Jewellery and Watches auction is Lot 250 - a magnificent rectangular-cut diamond ring weighing 10.35 carats, set off with baguette diamond shoulders. The ring has an estimate of £100,000 to £150,000 plus fees. It truly exudes opulence and is sure to garner huge interest.

Lot 351: A Belle Epoque diamond single stone ring

Other highlights include Lot 251, another impressive diamond ring weighing 8.35 carats. The Belle Epoque ring dates from around 1915, and its cushion-cut diamond is set in a claw-set mount with an engraved gallery and old-brilliant-cut diamond five-stone shoulders. This elegant piece has a £70,000 - £100,000 estimate plus fees.

Lot 349: An important ruby and diamond ring

For those who prefer colour, Roseberys is offering a ruby- (3.8 carats) and diamond cluster ring, with an estimate of £16,000 to £22,000 plus fees. The ring, lot 349, is accompanied by a gem report stating that no heat treatment has been detected and that the stone originates from Burma. The ruby has good clarity and exceptional pinkish-red colour.

Lot 347: A platinum, emerald and diamond cluster ring

Another highlight ring on offer is Lot 347 - an impressive emerald and diamond cluster ring. Verbal laboratory opinion suggests that the central emerald shows evidence of moderate colour enhancement, and it originates from Columbia. The stone is set in platinum and is set off with smaller triangular-cut emeralds. This beautiful ring has great appeal and comes to Roseberys with an £8,000 to £12,000 estimate plus fees.

Lot 348: An Art Nouveau platinum, pearl and diamond brooch

Lot 348 - a beautifully made brooch crafted in platinum - is a rare example of Art Nouveau jewellery, possibly the best era for fine jewellery for collectors seeking quality, design, and elegance. The pearl and diamond brooch is designed in a fan shape, with stylised winged openwork set throughout with old-brilliant-cut diamonds, a central single pearl measuring 10.8 mm x 9.4 mm, and a suspended pearl drop measuring 10.4 mm x 9.5 mm x 10 mm. The brooch has an estimate of between £4,000 and £6,000 plus fees.

Lot 325: A Belle Epoque, platinum and diamond lavaliere pendant necklace

Lot 325 is another fine example of jewellery produced in the first decades of the 20th Century. The platinum and diamond lavaliere necklace is complete with no alterations and features a series of old-brilliant-cut diamond-set navette-shaped links. The necklace has a central kite-shaped panel pendant set with old-brilliant cut diamonds suspending diamond triple row fringe drops with smaller drop spaces - all suspended by three rows of seed pearl chains. Dating to 1915, the piece is of exceptional quality and comes with an estimate of £4,000 to £6,000 plus fees.

Lot 345:A Victorian gold and turquoises snake necklace

Heading the antique section of the sale is an early Victorian gold and turquoise necklace dating from the 1840s. Lot 345 has been skillfully engineered with graduated links, giving the necklace good flexibility. These ‘snake’ necklaces appear in many forms, however, this one is less common: the necklace is set with turquoise collets and features a snake head set with diamonds and ruby-set eyes. With an estimate of £5,000 to £7,000 (plus fees), Lot 345 is a unique piece sure to draw attention.

Lot 299: A jadeite jade bead necklace, comprising a single row of one hundred and twenty graduated beads

Lot 299 is a very attractive Jadeite necklace, made of good medium apple green beads and accompanied by a report stating that the beads show no indications of colour enhancement. Among a fine selection of necklaces, Lot 299 is a wonderful piece and comes with a £2,500 to £3,000 estimate plus fees.

Lot 147: Cartier. A very rare 18ct white gold and diamond set asymmetrical wristwatch

As part of the selection of watches at this auction, Roseberys are delighted to be offering a very rare and exciting white gold and diamond set Cartier Crash wristwatch from 1998. Popular urban legend suggests that the idea for the Crash came when a client of Cartier brought in his Baignoire (which had been damaged during a car accident) for repair in the London Maison in 1967. Another popular story suggests that the inspiration behind the design came from Dali’s Surrealist masterpiece The Persistence of Memory. While it may be the case that neither tale is true, the Crash design certainly captures the flamboyant and exuberant spirit of London in the 1960s. Lot 147 is estimated at £45,000 to £55,000 (plus fees) and offers a wonderful opportunity for a collector to buy an exceptional and highly desirable piece.
