Roseberys' November Prints & Multiples auction presents an impressive selection of works by late 19th and early 20th-century masters alongside bluechip pieces at accessible prices, spearheaded by two notable private collections.

The distinguished Sue Clive MBE Collection features an original Picasso lithograph, Femme Assise, 1924—one of only 50 made— along with four powerful works by Christopher Richard Wynne Nevinson and an exceptional Samuel Palmer etching from 1857. Clive, a pioneering figure in UK gallery education and a knowledgeable collector from the 1970s to the 2020s, forged personal connections with many artists, and her collection includes unique artist dedications.

A selection of American works demonstrate the intertwinement of 20th century print making, music and celebrity culture. Two hand-embellished giclée prints by Bob Dylan will be going under the hammer, as well as a rare 1972 Warhol and Richard Bernstein silkscreen portrait of Dana Gillespie, originally designed as a potential album cover for her album Ain’t Gonna Play No Second Fiddle. David Bowie, who shared a personal and professional relationship with Gillespie, originally wrote the song Andy Warhol for her but released it first on Hunky Dory.

An iconic anti-war image of a dove by Picasso completes the sale.
