Roseberys' Prints & Multiples sale this April will bring to the market an impressive selection of works by celebrated artists, such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, Bob Dylan, David Hockney, Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin and Banksy, which span over several decades, offering a broad range of styles and mediums.

Undoubtedly the highlight of our sale, we present a remarkable print by Pablo Picasso from 1949, titled ‘Tête de Jeune Fille’ (Lot 23). This beautiful and thoughtful lithograph was drawn with brush and scraper in black ink to portray the head of a young girl, and is a particularly rare work, only from an edition of 50, plus 5 artist's proofs.

This auction will, once again, feature a strong collection of Andy Warhol prints. Starting the section with an example of the ‘Tattooed Woman Holding a Rose’ (Lot 158), this delicate lithograph is indicative of the artist’s early career, who used the print as a calling card. This is followed by two colourful screenprints titled ‘Peaches’, from the Space Fruit Series, 1979 (Lot 160) and ‘Committee 2000’ (Lot 159) from 1982. Both are signed, and the first is from an edition of 150, accompanied by the Warhol copyright and authentication board stamps to the reverse.

Still within the American section, Bob Dylan maintains a remarkable presence in the sale with prints such as ‘Monument Valley’ (Lot 195), a vibrant and attractive screenprint with acrylic ink and UV varnish, from a signed edition of 195. This section also includes a portfolio from the ‘Drawn Blank series’ (Lot 192), a single Train Tracks giclée from 2010 (Lot 193) and another titled ‘Opium’, from 2021 (Lot 194)

Moving on to British artists, Roseberys will feature exciting works by Banksy and Damien Hirst. Some of the highlights include Banksy’s ‘Get Out While You Can (pink)’, 2004 (Lot 242), a screenprint published by Pictures on Walls, numbered from the edition of 175; and ‘Laugh Now But One Day We'll Be in Charge’, 2003 (Lot 243), a screenprint featuring a chimpanzee wearing a sandwich board stating the defiant title as a slogan. Damien Hirst’s ‘Methylamine -13C’ work (Lot 219) from 2014 is an exciting screenprint in colours with diamond dust, holding the highest estimate of this section at £15,000-20,000.  Another noteworthy work is ‘The Currency, 6963, 'Say All The Time', (Lot 218), 2016, an acrylic original on handmade paper, featuring Hirst’s famous ‘dots’.
