Roseberys’ Prints & Multiples sale (Tuesday 18 June) will feature a remarkable selection of prints by distinguished artists, such as by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, David Hockney, Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, Bob Dylan, Damien Hirst, Harland Miller, Invader, KAWS and Banksy. This diverse collection spans decades, styles, and mediums, offering a wide array of choices from lithographs and etchings, to screenprints and sculptures, catering to every art enthusiast's taste. 

 

Lot 64: Henri Matisse, French 1869-1954, Hindoue à la Jupe de Tulle, 1929 

  

An exceptional and rare pochoir print by Pablo Picasso entitled ‘Tete’ Homme, 1948’ (Lot 73) will be available in the upcoming Prints & Multiples sale with an estimate of £7-10,000. This print heads an impressive selection of Picasso prints. Two lithographs by Picasso will go under the hammer, one from 1953, ‘La Famille’, and ‘Etude de Profils’, from 1948. Roseberys will also present an elegant Matisse lithograph ‘Hindoue a la jupe’ from 1929, (£25,000-£35,000) which is a rare test print outside the edition. It is in great condition for its age and has an unusual black and gilt Spanish style carved frame. The sale also includes one of 100 signed Andy Warhol ‘Grande Passion’ prints, an advertisement for a now discontinued drink for summer days. The bright colours and design are very evocative! (£22,000-£24,000) Another highlight is a sought-after KAWS ‘Kate Moss, White Gloves’ print from 2001.

Lot 73: Pablo Picasso, Spanish 1881-1973, Tete d'Homme, 1948

The sale includes a varied selection of Bob Dylan prints, as well as an unusual sculpture ‘Ironwork’ (£25,000-£35,000) from 2014. Also featured is one of the rare ‘Sidetracks’, prints, which are traditionally popular with collectors. This unique giclée print is hand embellished in colours by the artist, and was based on Dylan's most famous image, ‘Train Tracks’, with each print carrying an individual date, city, and country, based on concerts performed by Dylan from 1961-2013 (£26,000-£30,000). Furthermore, two striking prints by Harland Miller, 'High on Hope' and ‘On Me Not in Me', will be going under the hammer. The latter is hand finished by the artist with areas of gold leaf.

Lot 242: Bob Dylan, American b.1941- Sidetracks, 10th November 2003, Amsterdam

 
Other noteworthy works include Andy Warhol’s ‘Tattooed Woman Holding a Rose', set to be auctioned with an estimate of £12,000-£15,000; and a sought after Warhol invite card from 1981 featuring Marilyn Monroe, a relatively affordable way to own an iconic image of Marilyn by Warhol, (£5,000-£7,000). There will also be four Chris Levine prints of Queen Elizabeth II included in the sale, priced from £4,000-£6,000 to £8,000-£12,000.

 

The Banksy collection featured in this sale boasts remarkable pieces including 'Golf Sale, 2003' (Lot 342) with an estimated value of £10,000-15,000 and a Riot van print (£12-18000) issued to workers at the Dismaland theme park, each one was signed and dedicated to the individual worker by Banksy. We also have our usual collection of Banksy ephemera.

Other highlights include an original collage by Shepard Fairey, (£10-15000) two original mini canvases by Stik estimated at £8,000-12,000 and an interesting photography section with highlights by Vanessa Beecroft, Sam Taylor-Wood and Thomas Mailaender.
