Introducing Lucy aka The Watch Box Diaries and the Takes5 chosen by her from the upcoming Jewellery & Watches Auction taking place on 29 November.

"Hi, I'm Lucy, also known as The Watch Box Diaries.

I'm a watch enthusiast with a huge soft spot for vintage pieces. My love first started when my step father let me wear his vintage DateJust. It had a beautiful champagne dial and at 36mm it was the perfect size for my wrist. For me, pieces (including jewellery) carry memories. Each scratch and speck of patina has a story to tell and shows it's been worn and loved. I find myself imagining who may have worn that piece in another time!

From there my love for horology grew and I looked for more information on watches and the industry. After finding the instagram community I noticed quite quickly that it was quite a male dominated world. That being said, I was welcomed encouragingly! I decided to start a youtube channel to promote being a female within the industry and look at things from a female perspective. I get to review watches, cover industry events and speak to likeminded people. It's a hobby for me, and one I enjoy greatly."

LOT 147 - Cartier - Crash

"An absolutely iconic piece. I love the art connection, (whether true or not) with Salvador Dali. The diamonds mould perfectly with the unusually shaped case."

LOT 140 - Patek Philippe - Gondolo

"To me the Tank is as classic a shape as a round watch. This super clean, classy design is given an edge with those exploding roman numerals."

LOT 127 - Rolex - Precision

"A beautiful dial with just the right amount of patina, combined with a classic design and curved reeded lugs. Simple perfection."

LOT 129 - JLC - Concealed Cocktail

"An elegant piece of jewellery with a horological twist. I really like that this is back winding to ensure a full concealed movement. It's a unique design and ideal for someone who enjoys a little sparkle."

LOT 94 - Glasshutter - pocket watch

"I love to think of all the stories vintage pieces have to tell and I bet this one from the 1890s has many!"
